Panic As Femi Adesina Goes Spiritual Over Leah Sharibu

Nigerians have been reacting to the statement made by Femi Adesina, the special adviser on media and publicity to the president, on the matter of kidnapped Dapchi girl’s return.

On a Channels TV morning programme, Adesina was asked when Leah Sharibu would be rescued from Boko Haram. He said, “When will she be back? That question can only be answered by God, but I believe that God is interested in that young girl,” he said.

The captive is the only Christian among the 112 kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents from Girls Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe state.
Sharibu was held back for refusing to denounce Christianity, while the others were later returned home to their parents by Boko Haram.

A twitter user said:
Femi Adesina shouldn’t be laughing this much during an interview where he is mainly talking about a kidnapped teenager, Lean Sharibu who has been in captivity for month.
Another user tweeted: Just look at the kind of person Buhari appointed as his spokesperson.

LATEST UPDATE ON LEAH TODAY:

The father of a Nigerian schoolgirl being held by Islamist militant group since February has told the BBC he is delighted to hear her voice in a recently released audio recording.

"It really is her voice. Before, I thought she wasn't even alive," Nathan Sharibu told BBC Pidgin.

His daughter was kidnapped along with more than 100 girls from Dapchi town.

The others were later freed but she was kept, reportedly because she refused to convert from Christianity to Islam.

The 35-second audio recording, which is yet to be authenticated by Nigerian authorities, was published by Nigeria's cable newspaper on Monday.

If I'm Leah sheribu I will denounce the Christianity just to meet with my family. You can do anything if you were compel to do just to save your live. This was happened during the time of our beloved prophet a man was held captive and was he asked to insult prophet or he should be kill and he has no any option than to do so. He insulted the prophet and was release. Later on came to the prophet crying and was asked what happened? he narrated the story to him and prophet replies him you had not do anything wrong. Do anything to save your live if you were compel.
