Both the UI and UNILAG are ranked 401-500th out of over 1,799 institutions across the world, the 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings released on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 reveals.
While the University of Ibadan ranks 11th in the world’s 401-500th category, the University of Lagos ranks 24th out of the 25 universities in the category.
Some universities ahead of UI in the 401-500th rank are: Ferhat Abbas
Sétif University 1, Algeria, ranking 1st in the category; University of Ferrara, Italy, 2nd; University of Florence, Italy, 3rd; Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, 4th; University of Genoa, Italy, 5th; Georgia State University, United States, 6th; Université Grenoble Alpes, France, 7th; Hanyang University, South Korea, 8th; HSE University, Russian Federation, 9th; and Hunan University, China, 10th.The top five universities in the world according to the release are: University of Oxford, United Kingdom, 1st; Harvard University, United States, 2nd; University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, 3rd; Stanford University, United States, 4th; and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, United States, 5th.
