President Emmanuel Macron is expected to arrive here any moment from now.

The security is very tight. I had to to introduce myself as an independent news blogger before they allowed me to take few photos. I am also threading with caution as there are heavily armed security
personnels all over the place.
President Macron is expected to open the magnificent Alliance Francais building, which is
located in Ikoyi on the next day after his visit to the Afrika Shrine. This scenic upgraded Chateau-style Alliance Francaise means more Nigerians can learn about French culture and language in Lagos, the commercial capital.
This is a welcome development which is bound to promote greater interaction between Nigeria
and France and expand business opportunities, cultural exchange and employment.
On his visit to the Africa Shrine, Macron is going to soak-in Afrobeat music, which was specially
created by the legendary Fela Ransome-Kuti, a radical artiste who fought against injustice and
executive recklessness through his addictive brand of music.
His sons, Femi and Seun have been able to sustain the popularity of the genre and President
Macron will certainly have fun at the African Shrine.

So what's the value of this visit? By the way, I learnt that they quickly patched the road that leads to the shrine lol I wish the French president will be visiting often lol

@Larahover; My dear sister, the whole of Agidingbe was cleaned up because of this visit. All shops and petty traders locked. It is like a public holiday around Aluasa, Agidingbe, Shoprite, Secretariat. @Daniel: PMB clearly stated that youths can now run but not for 2019 presidency . That would be in subsequent elections. I pray the youths take over just as it is being done in other parts of the world

Sure, it's a big surprise "heroic visit". Now the world can see that Nigeria is safe unlike what the western media reports. We also hope to see Nigerian culture given better attention

In the words of the French President, 'I mean Fela, Femi, Seun Kuti are obviously very famous in France and Europe, I mean they are big successes but the Shrine is a cultural hub, an iconic hub and it is very important for me first on a personal level, and that is why I want 2 say with a lot of humility that I recognize the importance of this place, I recognize the place of culture in this current environment.”
