The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Tuesday, said it plans to venture into solar power generation and is also considering powering all its retail outlets with electricity from solar energy. The NNPC, in a statement in Abuja, also stated that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, in China with two consortia, towards the development of sustainable biofuels in the country.
According to the statement, Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Baru and executive officers of the consortia signed the agreements at the Nigerian Embassy in Beijing on the sidelines of the ongoing Forum for China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit.
The two separate MoUs on the biofuels project development were signed between NNPC and the Obax-Complant Consortium on one hand and NNPC and the Capegate-Nanning Consortium on the other hand.
Baru said the renewable energy project was dear to the current administration, which was why shortly after assuming office at the NNPC, he made it one of the cardinal programmes of his corporate vision of 12 Business Focus Areas, BUFA.

ibelibelisim? I know the meaning of that Igbo word but I won't say it. Ikenna you are funny. Seriously, I think it will help the filling stations have stable power to serve the customers better. Though, They don't want to buy petrol to fuel their generators and they sell petrol.

Bussy, I think so. It is only where there is stable power supply, the petrol stations will operate efficiently for customers
