Ghanaians Are Destroying Nigerian Shops & Goods Worth Millions

No photo description available.
At least 20 shops belonging to Nigerians were forcibly locked at Suame Magazine in Kumasi, Ashanti region of Ghana, on Monday. According to GhanaWeb, the traders said they were being targetted over the alleged involvement of Nigerian nationals in kidnappings in Ghana.
Four Nigerians had been arrested over the alleged kidnap of two Canadians.
The arrested suspects were reported to have abducted Bailey Jordan Chitty and Lauren Patricia Catherine Tilley who were volunteering in Ghana.
Kizito Obiora, the chairman of the Nigerian Union of Traders Association, was quoted to have said the attack started last week.
He said they have been forced to close the shops, and their attackers are demanding that they return to Nigeria.
He added that when the attacks started, the police intervened but some unidentified young men returned on Monday to forcibly lock up their shops.
Some Ghanaian traders, however, said they were not out to intimidate foreigners but to encourage authorities implement the statutory laws without fear or favour.

Its an internal thing, the Nigerians involved in trading and those involved in kidnapping should settle it internally before Ghananians turned like those assholes South Africans.I blame South Africans but presently i wondered why those who called their own country a zoo are against Ghananians standing up to stop our animals from turning their own country too to a zoo.

You are right on point and have marshalled out the gist of the matter. Even today in Suame, Kumasi, all the Nigerian shops of which the majority is owned by Igbos are under lock and keys. They are even beating and maiming anybody they chanced to meet at any point.

I base here in Ghana ,the hatred and stereotyping is very bad, this people involve in crime more than Nigeria's,but is so unfortunate that any crime in Ghana is been tag on Nigerians by their press and police.

Without falling to the temptation of drawing conclusions based on sentiments, it is known that many Ghanaians are not happy with the Nigerian business community in Ghana, with the result that actions of this nature have been frequently resorted to. This is the time for the government of both countries to intervene to stem the tide of hatred and violence.

I wish I could say much. Nonetheless, the issue before the government of Ghana goes beyond retail businesses.

Some miscreants who are both Nigerians and Ghanaians are into kidnapping. Reports indicate that the perpetrators of these crimes are Nigerians but being aided by Ghanaians.

So, my friend, it is as a result of the negative light that has made some lawbreakers(Ghanaians) to vent their spleen on law abiding Nigerian retailers.
