The Sunnis believe that Muhammad had no rightful heir and that a religious leader should be elected through a vote among the Islamic community's people. Shiites believe that only Allah, the God of the Islam faith, can select religious leaders, and that therefore, all successors must be direct descendants of Muhammad's family.
The Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, have vowed to sacrifice 21 million of its members if Federal Government failed to release its leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky. IMN issued the warning during its protest in Ikeja, Lagos State on Thursday. Members of the group chanted several songs, demanding that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration should respect court orders and release El-Zakzaky.
What most Nigerians do not know is that Nigeria is a predominantly SUNNI MUSLIM country with less than 20% SHIITES Muslims. Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai is a Sunni Muslim while Islamic Movement in Nigeria founder, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky is a SHIITE Muslim. Edeson Online news findings reveal that SUNNI Muslims and SHIITE Muslims are always at loggerhead from time immemorial. They are practically Enemies. Shi'ism was "almost unknown" in Nigeria until the 1980s, when Ibrahim El-Zakzaky introduced it. The Nigerian government claims IMN SHIITE Muslims are threat to peace and unity of their domains in the country, obstructs public highways, and illegally occupies public facilities including schools. Also, The Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the Zaria Clashes of 12-14 December 2015 found that the IMN is not a registered organization.

Shias believe that Muhammad divinely ordained his cousin and son-in-law Ali Ibn Abi Talib (the father of his grandsons Hasan ibn Ali and Hussein ibn Ali) in accordance with the command of God to be the next caliph, making Ali and his direct descendants Muhammad's successors.
Shiites and Sunnis pray differently: Sunnis cross their arms, while Shiites keep their arms by their sides. Sunnis observe five daily prayer sessions; Shiites condense the five prayers into three sessions. Their similarities and differences are too numerous to mention here.

It is not the matter of Sunni or Shiite , Islam is one and any other doctrine that's laid down asides of the Quran and the Prophet (SAW) should be abolish before they started create problem to the country entirety !
