Chad President Idris Deby Is Dead, Killed By Rebels

 Chad's President Idriss Déby has died suddenly in clashes with rebels in the north of the country at the weekend, the army has said on state TV.

His death came shortly after provisional election results which projected he would win a sixth term in office, with 80% of the vote.

The government and parliament have been dissolved. A military council will govern for the next 18 months.

Mr Déby came to power in an armed uprising in 1990.

The President of the Republic, Head of State, Supreme Chief of armies, Idris Deby Itno, has breathed his last while defending the territorial integrity of the Country on the battlefield. It is with deep bitterness that we announce to the Chadian people the death this Tuesday, April 20, 2021.

As much as I appreciate his bravery, I'll still say that you don't have a gun and engage Jet Li in physical fight. You don't have a missile and choose to engage in blows against Anthony Joshua. You should rather use your instruments than turn yourself an instrument. He has so many soldiers and guards than going into war personally.
