President Buhari Was Absent At His Wife Aisha Book Launch

A cross-section of Nigerians have taken to social media to comment on the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari at the launch of a book written in honour of his wife and First Lady, Aisha Buhari.

Prominent Nigerians were at the launch of the book, “Aisha Buhari, Being Different”, which held at the Conference Centre in Aso Rock on Thursday.
Buhari, who is currently in London for a medical check-up, was represented by his Chief of Staff, Prof Ibrahim Gambari.

This, however, left many tongues wagging.

Below are some reactions as compiled by Daily Trust:

Aisha Buhari is launching her book today, her husband Baba dey chill for London. How on earth did we expect a scattered family to fix Nigeria? pic.twitter.com/FbESbLlPFX

Saw a line or two on the book launch for Aisha Buhari holding today. A lot was said about her being a motivating factor behind Buhari’s political aspirations. I’m keen on knowing her role when he unleashed violence after he lost in 2011. Did she intervene to quell the violence?

Many prominent Nigerians were present on Thursday as Aisha Buhari, the first lady, launched her book — but the majority of billionaires invited were conspicuously absent.

Not only were the billionaires expected to grace the book launch, but they were also pencilled down as presenters at the event.

The launch of the biography titled, ‘Aisha Buhari: Being different’, held at the Banquet Hall, presidential villa, Abuja.

Bola Shagaya was in attendance but the likes of Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Arthur Eze, Femi Otedola, Muhammadu Indimi, Jim Ovia, Kessington Adebutu, and Idahosa Wells Okunbo were a no-show.

Folorunsho Alakija, who recently dropped off the Forbes list of dollar billionaires, was listed as the special guest of honour — but she was also absent.

GUYS, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

It's not a mistake...The Buhari who is the president might just be dead.
His public absence is more than enough to question if he's truely still alive.

Martins Agbaje

I trust you.As far as it's APC family.

Buhari is dead and buried in Saudi Arabia in 2017

He is on vacation, stop sensational journalism

What context should even be reasonable enough to be glared on? Have they reasons or excuses to offer for their failed government? Oh, I guess enough excuses are offered in that book.

Seeing people say here with confidence that Buhari is dead makes the future of Nigeria look blurry to me. Because, even the so called educated youths also say this. I know it's just because they lack the simple knowledge of International Diplomacy. And lacking the knowledge of politics and International Politics means they cannot rule the country. And these are the people chanting TAKE IT BACK ðŸ™„🙄🙄
