Aguda house use to be the president's official lodge then and before the building of the presidential villa by General, Babangida Ibrahim, the president actually stayed there and even years ago when it was(the villa) undergoing construction, the president stayed there as well.
After the construction were completed in 1999 it became the permanent resident of the president and the aguda house became the official residence of the vice president.
However, it may shock you to know that the villa; comprising of the presidential lodge, office state house, banquet hall, VP's residence, is still undergoing construction and not completed.
It is an extensive project together the FCT metropolitan city development and it is still at its growing stage/phases.
