Morocco Beat Portugal 1-0 Despite Ronaldo's Presence (Qatar Quarter Final)

Morocco won 1-0 over Portugal after Youssef En Nesyri scored a goal in the dying minutes of the first-half of the quarterfinal match, at Al Thumama Stadium. Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo made his way onto the pitch in the 51st minute after starting from the bench. Coach Fernando Santos dropped the five-time Ballon d'Or winner for the last 16 win over Switzerland, and m

aintained a similar line-up against the North Africans.

Cristiano Ronaldo exited the World Cup in tears as his Portugal side suffered a shock 1-0 quarter-final defeat to Morocco.

The former Manchester United superstar had been dropped to the bench for both of Portugal's knockout games but was brought on by manager Fernando Santos with his side chasing the game after Youssef En-Nesyri's first-half goal.

Portugal pushed hard for an equaliser throughout the second half but were unable to find the breakthrough, going closest through Pepe's last-gasp header that went just wide of the post.

And at the final whistle Ronaldo was one of the first players to leave the pitch, being filmed in tears as he walked down the tunnel and into the dressing room.
