Chief Iwuanyanwu’s Will Says Wife Will Lose Inheritance If She Remarries

 

The final Will of late elder statesman and former President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief (Engr. Dr.) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has stirred attention following its release on June 16, 2025.

According to the document, managed by Will administrator Chief Chukwuma Ekomaru (SAN), Iwuanyanwu left a specific clause barring his wife, Lolo Frances Iwuanyanwu, from remarrying.
The Will states that any such move would lead to an automatic forfeiture of all properties bequeathed to her.
Frances was allocated several high-value assets, including the iconic “Legacy House” located on Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, with a clear instruction that it must never be sold.
She also inherited Magil Furniture—formerly run by Iwuanyanwu’s late first wife, Eudora—as well as part ownership of real estate holdings in Orji, Works Layout, and Naze, all in Imo State.
The Will further revealed that their son will inherit the family’s Abuja residence, while the London property is to be sold.
The proceeds are to be divided as follows: 60% for the education of the youngest son, 30% for the first son, Jide, and 10% for Ezinne, who currently resides in the London home, to support her relocation.
In a significant philanthropic move, Iwuanyanwu instructed that the “Glass House” near the Orji flyover be converted into a public trust, to be managed by an independent board for charitable and community causes.
Other properties located in Abuja, Imo, and across Nigeria were distributed among his five children, who described the contents of the Will as “honorable and just.”
