Popular Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo is dead. He passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the age of 40 at a hospital in Lagos.
According to close associates and industry sources, the actor passed away following a private, prolonged battle with stage 4 liver cancer. Filmmaker Stanley Ontop disclosed that Ekubo had been battling the illness since 2024 and previously underwent a liver transplant. Unfortunately, the transplant failed, and his condition deteriorated until his passing.
His passing followed an extended absence from the public spotlight and social media. Fans and colleagues had repeatedly expressed concern over his welfare, as his last official social media post was made on December 30, 2024.
