The biggest threat to jobs might not be physical robots, but intelligent software agents that can understand our questions and speak to us, integrating seamlessly with all the other programs we use at home and at work. And call centres are particularly at risk. A Chatbot is a computer program designed to simulate conversation with human users, especially over the Internet.
The term "ChatterBot" was originally coined by Michael Mauldin (creator of the first Verbot, Julia) in 1994 to describe these conversational programs. Today, most chatbots are either accessed via virtual assistants such as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, via messaging apps such as Facebook Messenger or WeChat, or via individual organizations' apps and websites
Online chatbots save time and efforts by automating customer support. Gartner forecasts that by 2020, over 85% of customer interactions will be handled without a human.
However, the opportunites provided by chatbot systems go far beyond giving responses to customers’ inquiries. They are also used for other business tasks, like collecting information about users, helping to organize meetings and reducing overhead costs. @Goodie; Yeah, just know that when you contact customer care, not every voice speaking to you to respond to your inquiries are human. Some are Chatbots. Or have you had a conversation with a Chatbot?

@Obanla; America @Daniel: Well, it depends on the angle . It save will human time, just the job lost. @DJlapez; the jobs of customer service agents. @Creo; That's true. There is one Chatbot UBA bank normally use now called LEO, the virtual customer assistant . Just that not all companies or Nigerian can afford it.
